I don’t do anything fancy but I put a certain amount of money from each paycheck into various savings and investing accounts and don’t touch it. It’s been super helpful for budgeting.

I did??? Haha that’s awesome. I love Reddit so much. Basically just pumping money in every paycheck no matter what the market does has been enormously helpful. I don’t trade stocks at all. It’s too much like gambling to me and I hate gambling

There are lots of accountants and people very good with their money in that sub and they offer up very solid advice so you aren’t giving 1% to a financial advisor every year. That adds up!

Lots of subreddits were very helpful. /r/personalfinance /r/leanfire /r/HENRYfinance /r/middleclassfinance /r/chubbyfire were all super helpful

Oh! I just learned to max out every retirement account and how to do investing myself. I just pick standard mutual funds. Nothing crazy. I also take out any insurance I can through work which saves out asses with Al’s cancer diagnosis.

I am really leaning into technology lately. The last almost 2 decades of my life were spent learning nursing & medicine and anesthesia. You can always learn more of course but my brain is pretty tapped out there I taught myself how to manage our finances, then gardening, now I need a winter hobby.
