He *definitely* should have dedicated more screen time to the victims & Circe. Especially the latter, who's part felt rushed & awkward due to being truncated. Doing so could've also given us the missing sex. Honestly, what's an additional half-hour to serve those characters and better the film.

Reading that Emily Wilson essay and I find myself agreeing with her on a LOT of her criticisms of Nolan's The Odyssey. The way Odysseus is written is so bland and superficial and that comes through in Matt Damon's just-fine performance. I was not invested in him as a character.

Marvel Studios should have looked no further than Marvel Comics talent, Bryan Hill (whose recent Blade comics have been riveting) to write the script and guide that project. The success of it would have been all but guaranteed. #SDCC
