It’s true. You can try to solve a garden problem on the surface but it mostly doesn’t work. You learn pretty quickly that if you want anything to grow well you gotta figure out the root cause of the problem and fix that - even though it always takes more time and effort up front.

For me, this is all about the great lie that “running things like a business” is all about efficiency and profitability. Everything has a sociology & in the U.S. that usually means ruining nice things because racism. You’d think one day we would learn. I still hope one day we do.

Yep. Radical has a bad rap. Just means you look at root causes to figure out fixes. Every gardener is a radical. Mamdani&co are exceedingly pragmatic-not triangulating, but figuring out how to do what they’ve said they will in a way people can see feel understand& trust. Good governance is radical.
