It's pretty wild to watch two both incorrect propaganda wars being waged and people being asked to choose which incorrect war they back. Which I suppose is a form of propaganda in itself.

Climate change is real. Free markets are not. Lets at least try to separate reality from fiction.

It's just so dystopian to watch governments who want to increase the climate crisis struggle with proactively responding to the climate crisis because that would lay bare their nefarious ideology. So we are left in some quagmire of climate change denial.

I don't think I can overstate how much of a joy it is to cycle. It turns the normally adversarial job of transportation to one of comradery. Cycle chats with strangers, nods & smiles rather than angry road ragers.

It's really wild how a "centrist" like Biden played a massive role in convincing the population to embrace COVID & COVID harms & now Carney is playing a massive role in convincing Canadians to embrace climate change. Both were wildly sucessful.

Carney is the conservative that Smith really needed. Far more effective for Smith's goals than PP would have been.

The uncanny similarities between the kind of propaganda people successfully used to convince people to embrace COVID while it was overwhelming hospitals & what is being used on climate change keeps leaving my mouth agape.

Once the world decided that it would tolerate genocide, war crimes, pedophiles & open criminality it doesn't leave a whole lot left to stand up to.

So how are people dealing with telling their children the truth about what their lives are going to look like due to climate change? My kids are old enough to understand what's up & have read lots of the science, but still want to talk about it. I really struggle with having frank conversations with

Spoiler for the people that don't read the article, global burning is only decreasing because slash and burn fire practices in agriculture are not happening in Africa. The more important signal of increased fire activity, as predicted by climate science, is absolutely happening.

So just to round things up a little bit. We don't require fossil fuel companies to clean up their environmental waste, we build them pipelines, we fund propaganda for them & we will upgrade infrastructure in other countries for them. We do all of this during a climate crisis.

So I know I've said lots of times that governments create fossil fuel demand, there are dozens of examples of this, but I recently discovered that the government of Alberta has offered to use tax pay funds to pay for refinery upgrades in Japan (otherwise they can't use tar sands oil). 🫠
