What happens when China begins supplying Iran and Russia (their new oil buds) with the latest Chinese tech with all business conducted around the yuan?

By using the yuan and skirting the USD it seems they've established a second oil market in the world. And that's huge.

What about China buying Iranian and Russian oil using the yuan? And while it seems China's oil reserves are why the US hasn't collapsed in July, it sure seems like the US has lost more than a war with Iran.

If you ever hear someone talk about "tax-payer dollars" be sure that they're talking about state and local programs. If they're referring to Federal programs using "tax-payer dollars" they're misunderstanding how money works and the difference between currency USERS and currency ISSUERS.

And also note that taxes don't pay for Federal programs! So sure, taxes at state and local, but at the Federal level, we should be demanding WAY more from our policy makers and it doesn't have to be "paid for" by tax revenue. Just get Congress to approve the annual budget!

1) fair points I think my basic go-to is telling people how we create money all the time with no collapse ... it's been 50 years of $1T+ national debt - do we have cracks? not really (or, not JUST because of having debt) The housing crash saw like $30T injected into the economy...

I think that opener is underscored by the final statement, of "YES! Tax the rich! Tax them MORE! But don't let TAXES be the thing that limits what we can demand from our policy-makers" We can have so many things if we can collectively break out of the "taxes have to pay for it" mentality.

I hate that it's called Modern Monetary THEORY as that just opens the door for people to dismiss it as a theory outright. It's much more a descriptor of how money is created and allocated. And that single point "who gets to create the money of account" is THE critical point in the whole discussion.
