This is why Trump is so desperate to keep people from voting in November. If these numbers hold, it’s gonna be ugly.

This is good analysis, and part of what I’ve said: Iran can’t win a tit for tat military battle with the US. That was always obvious. What they *can* do is extract a disproportionate economic and political price from Trump. We have the power. They have the leverage.

We haven’t used a nuclear weapon in Iran, no. There’s no way that could have been covered up. I don’t *think* he’ll nuke them, but he’s completely boxed in and getting more embarrassed by the day, so I certainly don’t want to promise that. What a stupid timeline we live in.

He’s seriously tossing around the idea of boots on the ground. They’re also floating a bigger bombing campaign, but it’s pretty clear to anyone with a functioning brain that we can’t bomb enough to make a real impact. The combat search and rescue and the medics are the real signal here.

Yep. Weapons can broadly be classified in two terms: Exquisite - the good shit. Expensive. Limited stock. Affordable mass - scalable production, large quantities, easy to replace. We’ve been using a lot of JASSM/JASSM-ER, TLAMs, PAC-3 interceptors, etc. That’s the good shit.

He should appoint someone to fill McConnells seat and make the GOP prove Mitch is 1. Alive and 2. Able to fulfill the duties of his office 5 weeks with no contact with the public is unacceptable.

I think the death toll is largely accurate. They wouldn’t be able to cover up death on a large scale - someone (doctors, squad mates, family members, etc.) would talk. They’re absolutely covering up the wounded, though. Re: running the country, mostly Stephen Miller, unfortunately.

AI is actually one of my primary concerns. I’ve written about some of the dangers in a few different pieces, but I worry a lot about AI, particularly in the national security space. Truly autonomous weapons are insane, but they’re coming. The AI-powered surveillance state is real, and improving.

Massive recession? Possible depression? 2008 looks like a day at the park? I don’t think people realize how much potential trouble we’re in right now if they don’t figure this out soon - particularly with the Houthis closing Bab-el-Mandeb.

I don’t anticipate it going that far, but all I really have to say is that if the American people allow that without national, sustained protest - I’m talking economy in a gridlock protests - shame on us. I don’t see how that could possibly end without violence, and nobody besides Trump wants that.

Periodic reminder that Ukraine is one of our best allies. Between the intelligence sharing, capability sharing (drones, counter drone systems), and the fact they’re degrading the capability of one of our primary adversaries, anyone rooting against them looks even dumber now.

What that also tells me is that we still don’t have air supremacy, despite administration claims. We could drop gravity bombs on Iran every day for 20 years if we had to, but that’s obviously more dangerous.
