As person related to people who were high up in the GOP in the 1980s & are personally responsible for the rise of Reagan, even THEY acknowledge that their actions ruined the country and have apologized to us younger family members repeatedly. Anyone that still puts Reagan on a pedestal is unwell.

As a baby Xer, I watched A LOT of older kids do the same thing. All the kids that did not amount to much were all doing a ton of drugs/alcohol in high school. I think its the reason Gen X is such a disappointment as adults- we cooked our brains and now we go hard for MAGA.

Drugs A lot of the shitty behavior we see from the elder generations is probably from an overwhelming use of drugs 40 years ago.

The current crop are dying of old age in their seats. The long er they refuse to hand over power to the generations the fucked over, the greater the rage. Especially if the AI/Crypto/gambling site bubble bursts and its because they didn't do their job reining in the grift.

My dad likes to say the same things happen in the mansions that happen in the trailer parks. The difference is, the crazy shit happens behind closed doors in the mansions so no one really understands who/ what to blame. The trailer park crazy happens out in the open so you KNOW its not you.

I wonder how much if it is the fact that part of the white suburban culture is to wear a mask of happiness and mediocre sameness which causes the photos available to look like something out of the Brady Bunch.
