god I wish more directors got to talk about their movies like this, I wish we let more interviewers ask real questions
regular meghan 나영지 🇵🇸whether or not nolan christianized the odyssey i think he's using his adaptation of it to respond to some extremely christian (protestant) ideals and shortcomings, in a really instructive way
book never did this to me
jess m. 🌤️it all just sort of makes sense, now, huh. all this shit was just generated by AI and he believed it all enough to parrot it on his podcast, and his fact checking team had to clean up after him this is a really massive blow to popular science. Everything is in question now. does he realize this?
Newsom being Newsom and planting a knife firmly in the back of every entertainment worker in the state of California to save face with the rich guys. If you think he wouldn’t do the same as the Democratic nominee you’re kidding yourself
Ben CollinsThis fucking guy.
Plenty of ethical uses for this that people aren't seeing. For instance: telling your boss you will be late to work because you exploded
Joseph CoxNew from 404 Media: Google Earth has introduced an AI feature that lets anyone fabricate completely bullshit satellite images. In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...
Do you know how bad public perception of AI tech has to be for LinkedIn of all places to let you start flagging it?
Joseph CoxNew: LinkedIn just introduced a "seems like AI slop" button. That's literally what the button says. The thought leaders are going to have a meltdown www.404media.co/linkedin-int...
It's extremely cool that @cascadecascade.com is making enough money to consistently expand and improve upon itself while also paying its writers what I think might be the actual highest rate in the space for good hobby writing. (I encourage other outlets to prove us wrong!!)
CASCADE CASCADE - SUMMER VACATIONwe are pleased to announce that all writers for Issue 2 are getting paid $200 an article! This is a marked raise from Issue 1s $135, already a rate we were very proud of. This is, once again, possibly because of every reader’s monetary support of the publication. Thanks gamers <3
Goddamn, RIP. I was introduced to his stuff after seeing the all-time melancholy classic ONCE in high school and getting sent down a massive wormhole of what was already a massive career all those years ago. So awful to see him go so young.
With all respect, there is no group whose opinion I am less interested in when it comes to a film adaptation of The Odyssey than Classics People. When an entire discipline revolves around reverence to and thorough knowledge of a text, evaluating a deliberately modern adaptation is kind of impossible
They should start pausing movies at the 45 minute mark and let us bet on what we think is going to happen!!
