As an EFF staffer it was common to get email from people with mental health issues. It was always sad and a reminder of how precious mental health is. I imagine the volume has gone up lately …

So I'm doing a routine managerial task in a SAS platform (e.g. approving a leave or entering a performance rating) and the UI gives me a screen burst of confetti. When did it become okay to gamify serious workaday tasks? It's absurd & infantilizing.

Morning ride up to Mt Davidson with glimpses of Mt Diablo across the Bay through breaks in the fog. One of my favorite things about San Francisco is the city is like a natural gym.
