Thank you to Professor Danielle Allen for the opportunity to publish a piece in The Renovator. Steve Silverman & I wrote about Justice in Motion, and why it's not just a one-off but a new role for sitting & retired judges. www.democracyrenovator.com/p/justice-in...

“There are only three things that America will be remembered for 2000 years from now when they study this civilization: The Constitution, Jazz music, and baseball.” — Gerald Early Our job is to breathe life into the Constitution to make it worth remembering for the ages.

Let’s be clear. This is an extremely bizarre thing for an American mayor to be doing. But it’s beyond that. How much time does he spend railing against the Ayatollah or Putin? Or the leaders of Hamas?

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani

Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal.

“You did not bear the shame. You resisted. You bestowed the eternally vigilant signal to turn back by sacrificing your impassioned lives for freedom, justice and honour.”

Disclosure Day was great. Highly recommend.

Our judges’ bus trip for democracy —Justice in Motion — was on the front page of @usatoday.com, above the fold. Simply amazing.

It’s easy to feel a sense of despair and hopelessness about our nation these days. But look at these judges marching carrying roses, standing up for the rule of law. It’s hard not to feel inspired and hopeful. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

This is so powerful. Inspired by the March of a Thousand Robes in Poland, retired and sitting judges in the United States walked down the streets of Columbus, Ohio to stand up for the Rule of Law. #JusticeinMotion

Look as long as he’s reminding people about the 2020 election, I think the perfect pivot is to talk about January 6. Unlike his conspiracy theory nonsense, we all saw that happen in front of our eyes.

A high-T president would have taken action tonight. Not just talked. So low-T.

8444

Worth reminding folks that he sicced a mobbed on the Capitol to overturn our system of government. Yet he’s accusing other people of rigging elections.

This speech is so low T.

The President is such a fucking loser. My god

It’s worth saying this every now and again and particularly before moments like tonight. Anyone of our fellow citizens can stop supporting Trump at any time. Any administration official can resign at any time. There’s always a way back. Redemption is always on the table.

Thank you @maddow.bsky.social for posting about this incredible judges' bus tour. There is nothing more important to the survival of our democracy than an independent judiciary.

At a time like this, is there anything more important to our democracy than an independent judiciary?

Really sad about Sam Neill. He was extraordinary in Jurassic Park, bringing dinosaurs to life for a generation. In Hunt for Red October, his quote about raising rabbits & moving “state to state” perfectly encapsulates the America I love & that is under threat. Rest In Peace Sam.
