If they do this people will leave again and they'll be in the same sinking boat twitter is.

Dude go to bed

"Oh you don't want me to do the job you hired and pay me for. That'd be really scary."

Sorry but I've seen and met and heard from enough anti-AIPAC Jewish people that you're never going to be able to convince me that Judaism, ethnically or theologically, is synonymous with genocide and apartheid. No matter how hard you try! Sorry.

They do kind of a deep pull retcon for Sinks's character's backstory that I actually ended up liking quite a bit, and the character, mercifully, did not overstay her welcome. Felt like the exact right amount of her. For every moment that drags there's five more that are surprisingly introspective

Punisher made my partner cry on this movie

I doubt it's gonna win over anyone who's done with the MCU but for sick freaks like me who celebrate any step towards functional thematic storytelling, however small, it felt like a bit like a revelation. Also it looks real good. This movie has bricks in it! Bricks! Texture!

And Sadie Sink's character, though not who I wanted her to be initially, takes over parts of the movie in a way that I welcomed instead of balking at. Again this may be Stockholm syndrome but they found a way to do MCU set-up stuff that felt natural and constructive

This is just "well why didn't you fight him off" bullshit again. Fear of harm doesn't justify the threat of harm

X-Men is inherently about change. People keep trying to force it back into the box it was in in the 80s and during the 90s cartoon. Just ask any Spider-Man comic reader what effects that stagnation has lmao

(and to my radicalized anarchist ass it kinda helps pave the way to the ultimate conclusion, which is that no nation state can exist without exploitation of some kind along the way, and therefore we should abandon the notion and focus on people over flags)

And the answer is "probably not?" Like, we're not supposed to see the Quiet Council as benevolent and perfect lmao, fucking SELENE is there! Beast basically immediately turns into Henry Kissinger for godssake, this isn't an endorsement of Krakoa, it's an INVESTIGATION

X-Men has, thankfully, historically been VERY critical of apartheid states, both with the original human-led Genosha AND Magneto's regime in Genosha after that. The central tension and question of Krakoa is "can these oppressed people create their own nation without oppressing others"

100

And the whole "this is pro-Israel" criticism just immediately tells me that you haven't read any of that era because one of the very first things that happens in it is Magneto going to Jerusalem to tell the leaders there "Hey you did it wrong you fucking idiots"

100

It feels symptomatic of the media literacy crisis that people see Krakoa and go "well that must be a bad story that endorses cults and ethnostates" when that's decisively not at all what it's doing lmao, stories have conflict and the big conflict in Krakoa is "can this work" and "is this right?"

The irony to me in-universe is that, just like the concept of race or whiteness IRL, mutants ARE humans, and every attempt by humans to destroy mutants with sentinels eventually ends up being the destruction of humanity itself, like how the scape-goating of minorities IRL is destroying us
