Just got out of Powell & Pressburger's adaptation of the Odyssey. The use of black and white for Odysseus' journey and colour for his home in Ithaca was a stroke of genius, and David Niven was inspired casting as Antinous.
Jess NevinsJust got out of Béla Tarr's adaptation of the Odyssey. Really amazing. Three shots: the beach at Troy, the beach on Circe's island, and the beach on Ithaca. All the dialogue was in Attic Greek *and* was muffled by the sounds of the waves. Ended w/BOB from Twin Peaks digging his way out of the sand.
