Believe me when I say that I understand these are complex times and in such times certain things need to be prioritized. But the combination of fast-tracking projects with our government turning its back on environmental commitments goes beyond my patience. I believe we can do better.

I share your sentiment, but these aren't wild accusations. They have been well documented and are real. They are decisions that have directly lead to the unemployment of many of my colleagues, dismantling of programs, and has generated an anxiety in my field that hasn't been present since Harper.

I encourage you to do some research on this - Carney's approach to the environment sector is well documented. 100,000 jobs is great and I didn't say otherwise. But those gains run concurrent to numerous broken promises that have hamstrung my industry. Hence my frustration. No missing logic here.

I think it’s time we refer to your absolute gutting of the environmental sector as “Team Canada Weak”.

The complete lack of media coverage on the ecological importance and social dynamics of the Fraser River Delta is mind blowing. Avoids big fights with environmentalists? Are you not familiar with how long it took for RBT2 to be green lit? Would be really nice to see a local perspective voiced.

My equivalent would be to open a restaurant themed after the cafeteria of the Queen of Nanaimo. Complete with rattling tables and cutlery, super salty soup, and coin hockey- compatible tables.

Environmental assessment in Canada is broken. The mine escapes assessment through a loophole (below minimum capacity) but once approved can exceed that capacity without further assessment. And it's only getting worse under Carney. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
