Haha, Haruhi brought me out of some "wilderness years" where I'd dropped from congoing/staffing in 2001, and got out of the habit of watching anime, too. During "the online piracy years" a friend dropped one random series on me, but then Haruhi, which I loved (especially the out-of-order-ness),

Amusingly I kinda set this one up to see if you’d challenge me on it, since I talked it up and yet not in my chronological list. I do love it, but the problem it faces is…. 1998. A glut of great anime, but more specifically TANK, and quite possibly my favorite OP of all in Kiseki no Umi.

I was surprised. I saw Death/Rebirth yesterday, and there was possibly a dozen, dozen-and-a-half at that one. EoE had multiple showings, and the 7pm one was more packed than I'm used to.

Uncertain because it’s possible I snuck in some late-night HBO when the parents were asleep, but the one I “count” was when a neighbor took me with his kids to see Friday the 13th: Part IV, slasher flicks being something they were into but my dad definitely was not That at a drive-thru at age nine!
