I would definitely say Final Fantasy 9, six, seven are my top three. I am playing through seven right now the remake so we'll see how that goes

If you're talking about the PS1 error of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy 9 is the best in my opinion. It has a complete story it is wonderful side character stories and everyone is pretty flushed out. When I was younger I finished it in a weekend cuz I was so excited and enjoyed it.
