This is not a knock on PURE HEROINE, which is a great album: MELODRAMA is significantly better than PURE HEROINE HOWEVER I can probably count on one hand(maybe two) the number of albums better than MELODRAMA in the past decade or so, so
Dan PizzutaImportant debate with Lorde's Lollapalooza set in the background: Pure Heroine or Melodrama

I’m sorry but I think b) is at least a little bit cope. It’s reasonable to think teams built around depth, positional flexibility, and maximizing matchup advantages in the regular season rather than high-end talent are likely going to disappoint in the playoffs relative to their overall record.
K. Chris Cornella) winning a championship in any sport requires surviving variance b) the Brewers, like every other baseball team, don't have a "second gear." you face better pitching in the playoffs, that's why they're in the playoffs c) yes, they absolutely should and can beat the Doyers out for Skubal. (won't)
yeah dude all the more reason for the brewers to go get the most sure thing pitcher who will ever be available!
macleanwBrewers margin for error is much smaller. Dodgers can just spend to overcome.
the new Phoebe Bridgers album isn't anything like I expected
Morris “Day and The Time” Katzdoes the Boy Genius think he can fix Amick and turn him into Jared Young 2.0
This is one of those things that annoys me that more teams don't do. If you really believe in your ability to maximize overlooked players and prospects, you should be A LOT more willing to part with your prospects than other teams are. This is part of why the Dodgers are so good.
Chris Towers is Overreacting To Small Sample SizesHave faith in your ability to keep churning those guys out, like ... the Dodgers!

Tim FotschAgree and the Brewers have such a deep bench of assets with position players so you can always replenish if you whiff.
Yeah, having a healthy Jacob Misiorowski means your window is RIGHT NOW. You simply cannot count on having a healthy Jacob Misiorowski ever again. This is the moment.
Tim FotschWill say that there is one big difference this year and that is Miz. But I actually think THAT is why they should trade for Skubal.
I know the general consensus is that the playoffs are random, but I don't totally buy that The Brewers by and large manage their teams like a lot of teams do in the playoffs -- 5-and-dive your pitchers, overuse your best high-leverage relievers, etc. Do they have another gear for the playoffs?
Chris Towers is Overreacting To Small Sample SizesThe Brewers have been a very good regular season team that can’t get over the hump in the playoffs. Maybe it’s random, or maybe the min-maxing thing doesn’t work as well as just Having Dudes in the playoffs. They should test this theory by blowing the Tigers away for Tarik Skubal. Will they? (No)
Yeah it stinks that AJ Preller and Dave Dombrowski are kind of viewed as punchlines in a lot of baseball circles, but they've built teams that are trying to actually win the World Series and not just have everything go write to make a brief run, and I think that's admirable.
Dodger Fan in SpaceAt some point a team that is not the Padres has to say "If not now, when?" It doesn't feel like anyone else has said that since the Rangers in 2023.
They already have more hitters than spots in the lineup and there aren’t exactly a ton of impact bats available. Where is the upgrade supposed to come from? Skubal instead of Sproat or whoever in the playoffs is a way bigger upgrade than any hitter they could possibly add.
Tom KessenichI really really really don’t wanna see the #Brewers unload their valuable assets and get Skubal just to lose more 2-0 games in the playoffs again. They finally have the assets to deal with. They need offense. Bad.
hey man why did you buy the team then?
Fischer 🛠️🚇if this is going to be the line then fuck these guys
I've been thinking about this performance a lot over the past 24 hours for obvious reasons, so here's Glen Hansard performing "Fairytale of New York" at Shane MacGowan's funeral. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s8l...
