So excited to hear from YOU at our STM public hearing as we continue the work to renew the Seattle Transit Measure which, as proposed, will dramatically increase bus service in Seattle! 🚎

Reminder: today at 5pm is the in-person portion of the public hearing on the Seattle Transit Measure (STM) renewal. STM funds a significant portion of Seattle's bus service, and the proposed renewal provides a big increase in our service hours. So be sure to come by City Hall to give public comment!

In last year's budget, I sponsored an amendment requesting that Seattle IT provide quarterly reports on the usage of AI across City departments, including pilot projects, integrations into existing technologies, and roadmaps for larger rollouts or distribution. We just received the Q2 report:

I authored this letter to fight for Seattle residents and their tax dollars. In addition to millions that would be directed away from our community, I'm concerned with the precedent this "cap" would set for Seattle. I'm grateful to my colleagues for signing on and hopeful for the path forward.

I wish I could have been there with you all today, but couldn’t attend due to Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) quorum rules. But my commitment to Graham Street Station is unwavering; it would be immensely harmful not to proceed with this station, and I’ll continue to do what I can to get it built.

The Transportation Committee just voted 5-0 to put Shared Streets into the city code, and I couldn’t be happier to vote yes! This represents an amazing opportunity to make our streets safer by giving priority to people, not cars, and by allowing us to lower the speed limit to 10 MPH.
