I love how they expanded on the story in this game.

I still think it was an absolute crime that Nintendo didn't release Virtual Boy games on the 3DS. It was made for it!

Star Fox sometimes reminds me of group projects in school

I approve of this bundle. That is, if you don't own these games, you very much should. And even though they're both very different, they scratch similar "exploration expanding after unlocking abilities" and movement challenge feels. And protagonists without pants.

Remember the internet before Google, before algorithmic feeds, before monolithic social media corralled us onto the same handful of apps? When small, *personal websites* and webrings linking them together reigned supreme? Time to bring it back.

...but the new tutorial is terrible. Spending ten minutes learning in the dryest way possible what the game already teaches you mid-mission with effortless elegance is a crime. Do yourself a favor, pause, and "quit", which boots you out of it.

The new Holoviewer is probably one of the best additions, giving little encyclopedia readouts for characters and enemies, and are surprisingly full of fun details.

All in all, it's still Star Fox 64 at heart, and Star Fox 64 is such a great game. The handful of new bells and whistles are nice. Though, so far, the so-called "Challenge Mode" mostly trains you to do the things you already do when medalling as opposed to being true challenges.

The Less Good! - It's the game you know and remember. - There's so much visual clutter in some missions that targets can be hard to see. - The script is 95% verbatim the old, but then random iconic lines are changed, often in remarkably arbitrary ways. - Cutscenes are insubstantial and add little.

The Good! + It's the game you know and remember. + The new graphics look great. + Some additional dialogue is fun. + Cutscenes are brief and don't interrupt the gameplay as much as I was afraid of.
