Collins also accused us of "misinformation" and failing to report that aluminium is not sanctioned. He's right. We haven't reported that. Because it's not true. Aluminium is sanctioned by the EU. Alumina is not, something we have repeatedly made clear.

Minister Niall Collins on RTÉ's This Week programme claiming the Aughinish report couldn't be released because it contains "commercially sensitive" information. Perhaps he should read the report, particularly page 16

One more thing stood out. In his statement Burke said the company has supplied proof its alumina "is solely used in the production of aluminium for export from Russia." But later on RTÉ, he said a small amount goes to the Russian civilian market. Which is it?

On RTÉ this morning Peter Burke said the reason exports of Irish alumina to Russia doubled after the invasion is because European companies refused to continue doing business with Aughinish, citing 'reputational damage'. Which is not a great look however you spin it.

This framing is bizzare. It was never accused of breaching sanctions. Alumina isn't sanctioned. That's kind of the whole point
