Hello from Mayor Sarah, I just got back from the 2026 Local Progress Convening in Baltimore, a national meeting of progressive city, county and school board leaders. (For those keeping track, I paid for this conference out of pocket.)

Hello from Mayor Sarah, Fireworks are illegal in Burien. This is a quick reminder that not only do fireworks frighten pets, wildlife, & many people, they also cause fires, and they have destroyed schools and residences, damaged parks, ignited trees, and caused injury and death to people.

Hello from Mayor Sarah, Last Monday was the first in a month that did not have some kind of Council Meeting, & I have enjoyed the brief break to spend more time on my garden & with my family. Over the weekend, my two grown kids and several of their friends came over to sample ice cream & toppings.
