Yes, Trump is absolutely a generational political talent for the GOP. And he has been very good at motivating low-info, usually low-propensity voters. That was enough to win twice even though almost half the country hates him.

This is why the crossfire between moderates and left wing (neither of which rep the party's center of mass and aren't always even people in the party) is so damaging and, frankly, stupid. We need a broad coalition to win the presidency and control Congress, but that shit never seems to stop.

Dems represent a very wide political coalition from mildly cons to very prog within the party, and also need to pick up some ind voters beyond the in-party coalition on both the cons/mod and far left ends. Therefore, divisive candidates in national and statewide races are really problematic.

That's not correct. Colleges generally don't change the sticker price, and that's before state and federal aid gets applied. Especially for private schools, the sticker price is a fictitious number for almost everyone. An exception is....

The average college cost of attendance (after adjusting for inflation) has been essentially stable for over a decade now. This assumes that you ignore the sticker price that almost no one pays and look at what students are actually charged after aid.

If everyone with resources and a decent case sued the federal govt, then DOJ and applicable executive branch agencies would quickly become completely saturated and unable to effectively respond to anything, resulting in mass court losses. We're already seeing that happening to some extent.
