A two-bear morning before 8am. Add to that a healthy mule deer, 7 ducks crossing the highway (a mtn road, little traffic), a spruce grouse, pika, marmot, and the VERY best: a dipper in a fresh alpine stream, doing its sweet dive 'n' bob. 1600-metre hike to the top. Friends and anemones.
