The mountain's name Shuksan is derived from the Lummi word šéqsən, said to mean "high peak". The highest point on the mountain at 9,131 ft. is a three-sided peak known as 'Summit Pyramid'.

From running by & observing the changes: The older woman who lived there passed away. The rose bush was a bit overgrown. Hanging above the sidewalk. So, her son trimmed it back when he started to clean & organize the house & yard. Made sense. Then, they did more landscaping & chopped it down. Boo ☹️
