Packing turned up treasures: copies of ground-breaking stories that changed state and federal law on health equity, in hospitals, schools, workplaces, and justice systems. We also found early issues of Boyle Heights Beat, our youth-led community news project with @laopinionla.bsky.social.

Our team is packing up our longtime home, the top floor of Kerckhoff Hall, a 100-plus-year-old Tudor Revival, and going “back to school.” This fall, we're moving to the School for Communication building on the @usc.edu Annenberg campus.

Founded in 2004, the Center was initially known as The California Endowment Health Journalism Fellowships, after our founding funder, and we trained about 100 California journalists annually. Today we're a national program supporting thousands of journalists annually.
