I have an Autism authorization on my teaching credential, so have spent time learning about and teaching folks w/ASD. Do not underestimate the capabilities of individuals on the spectrum. If anything, they are often what we call “twice exceptional” with some skills that are off the charts.

I was teaching my high school history class about the Cold War. The Atlantic had an article about how MTV videos messaged the worry. So I’d show vid examples but start w/teaching kids about the importance of MTV to that generation 😬 And the evolution of language became an accidental bonus lesson. ‼️
