Five years ago today, the 1,000-ton Vautravers Building arrived in its new location 📍 In about 24 hours, the 127-year-old building was moved approximately 30 feet west and 10 feet south toward N Clark Street in order to reconstruct century-old Red and Purple Line track structures.

Our crews installed nearly 1,000 feet of new Green Line track over this past weekend. This work is just one of six slow zone removal projects in 2026, which will remove roughly six miles of slow zones across six lines.

We're expanding our Automated Bus Lane Enforcement (ABLE) systems to equip a total of 52 buses with camera technology to automatically enforce parking and standing violations in bus and bike lanes, and bus stops.
