Yer with Stella I think it'll be explain but not excuse. Cus lots of people have either trauma or a history of abuse. And most don't take that and use it as reason to do it to someone else. But it is important we have discussions about those who choose to continue the cycle of abuse.

I definitely wouldn't use them at Aldi. They used to require you to have worked checkouts for 3 years elsewhere, and a time trial was part of the interview. They pay the best wages, and are still known for not hiring temps. Make them pay their incredibly fast employees.

Hum.. Well that could push business to hiring more people, because Self Service checkouts don't save them very much these days. The service & maintenance are an ongoing subscription to monopolies. But it also might make it harder for disabled people in shops that can take the hit. So I'm not sure.

But again in my experience these comments are red flags to mandatory reporters. If we heard them for parents or grandparents; we knew the kid's in an extremely risky position, and would need more help. A girl I know was sent out of country to have her autism 'fixed' at conversion therapy.

I'm not pulling authority. I'm explaining my experience. Ableism is often hard to clock if you're are not disabled or a person in the community. Like how racist microaggressions often fly over the head of people they aren't directly towards. We can agree to disagree.
