Deer was convicted of manslaughter. The hitman was convicted of second-degree murder.

No newspaper that operates under even basic journalism standards should consider publishing anything from someone like Peter Navarro. This again raises the question of why the American-owned PostMedia receives funding from Canadian taxpayers.

Peter Navarro went to prison for refusing a subpoena related to his involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the capital. He has spread baseless claims about the 2020 election. Clearly he is a bad actor, as defined by @jayrosen.bsky.social and yet the National Post trots him out. 1

It might also raise some red flags that he was once charged with first degree murder for hiring a hit man to kill a businessman and after he got out of prison, he associated with another Edmonton businessman who terrorized his creditor by burning down their cottage and house.
