So... not only are they doing kind of the same premise of the new Jumanji movies w/ videogame roleplaying, but they're also doing callbacks to the original with Jumanji invading the real world, with the actress who played the aunt from the first movie. It's a DOUBLE legacy sequel. LEGACY INCEPTION

I think the discourse of whether anime was popular in the 90s or 2000s will depend heavily on *exactly* what time period you're talking about and who you were hanging out with at the time. "Popular" is hard to objectively measure, but at least in the 90s, anime was rather fringe. /1
