That would be such a twist, I honestly kinda like it (It makes the HC of his shadow having it's own sentience differ quite a bit!)

A crack theory I had a while ago was that Lilith lost her voice, and that's why she's in heaven. Considering the importance of her voice, it would be interesting if she was introduced as mute in the show
