1/3 Depending on your needs, Libre Office, the leading Open Source Office Suite. It's basically 'as good as Word etc. were before 365 arrived'. Basically think of it as MS Office but without the online bits etc. And free. OTOH for most of my writing tasks,, which relate to software, I use Sphinx

three things: 1. run like hell from google, it is ALWAYS justified to degoogle. 2. they opted everyone in to using their data for ai training and there is a setting that disables it. until you have everything figured out for fully degoogling, turn this setting off and that may help. 3. fuck google

This needs to be a bigger story. Google Docs is no longer safe for copyrighted material. Any writer on contract needs to stop using it *immediately*.
