So your friend still needed medical intervention to control infection. That needs to be monitored. A short full without cardiac or stroke symptoms would not warrant a long hospitalization. Even if he broke a hip and needed surgery he would be home by now. someone is lying about something

What was his condition was he there for? I doubt that your friend was well enough to sit in a chair fully dressed. If he is as healthy as they say he is and if he didn’t have a stroke and in need of rehab he would not be in the hospital. My thought is that he is alive but is incapacitated

No one stays in the hospital this long. He would have been transferred to a rehab center by now. If he is still in the hospital there is no way he would be sitting up on his street clothes. He would still be bed ridden. This is unless he is getting special treatment which would be an issue
