Scientist, cyclist, knitter. But only 2 out of 3 at any one time. 🔰 📌 Toronto

$15 million in revenue? I guess if the suburbs want low taxes and windrow clearing, they need to aspire to be a world class city like Edmonton and allow multiplexes up to eight units per lot. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Okay, well now I can pick a side. Team maps.

I don't even understand why we're arguing because everyone seems to agree that we need to do more than one thing? I guess we're disagreeing about how much each thing can help?

There are a lot of bylaws that exclude people in new apartments from applying for permits. This restriction is one thing that allows permit costs to be way under market rates. If they wanted it to be publicly accessible parking, they would use meters or a system like the public lots.

They raised the bike lanes up and then put rolled curbs on them, presumably to help cars park in them?

It feels like a real Poe's law situation but I'm pretty sure it's not a parody, unfortunately.

Oh my goodness. I haven't seen a Toronto Car People post in a while. They're still at it, huh?

A 50% tariff on reflecting pools that aren't green.

The punishment's girlfriend lives in Canada. You wouldn't know her.

This is one reason that I chose a spot North of the river when I lived in London, UK. I don't know why so many places insist on putting their water in the wrong spot.

If you're an Econ Prof, I guess everything is an econ problem. But the issue is that Trump is a political problem and he responds to political complaints, which he is obviously getting as a result of the alcohol ban. Which seems very obvious to almost everyone except, apparently, some econ profs.

I'm old enough to remember when the tariffs were about fentanyl.

"That would remove Washington’s pretext for retaliation under Section 338..." No, if you remove this one, they'll just find another one. That's what makes it a pretext.

Let's go! I didn't know this was (finally!) happening.

There's part East of Leslie that goes under a bridge and joins up with the sidewalk in a way that made me confident it was multi-use. Then you get the lane separate from sidewalk back for the intersection. Then the lane runs back up onto the sidewalk again but it's much narrower and feels wrong.

From what I know, they've been back and forth on the policy because some using the space were put off by cyclists going through quickly. Initially, they said no bikes but quickly changed to no e-bikes/scooters from feedback. But there were still complaints that security weren't enforcing it enough.

I think the "correct" route out of the Gateway Blvd exit from the Don is to ride the extra distance East down Gateway, turn North up Deauville, then loop back around until you're heading west. There's a spot to cross Eg and use those lanes. But it's so unintuitive that I didn't see it initially.

I don't ride on the sidewalk. But I did walk my bike for sections here where the construction made the right lane inaccessible. Getting to the end of that and seeing a colourful pink decal made me think that the City knows there is a huge safety issue here and this is how they chose to deal with it.

Maybe I'm just lucky but my library has different areas for different things. Kids programming, community meetings, study areas, areas with AV stuff and projectors, a more relaxed areas with newspapers. Something for everyone.

This sort of coffee shop is called a library.
