The first one that comes to mind is Kirstie Alley's Saavik. I so wanted to discuss science with her over lunch, stealing glances at her and hoping she didn't notice, until our eyes met for a long moment ... for a very nerdy young me, envisioning this caused my soul to melt.

Creativity is what makes us human., and it is a near approach to what we can only call divinity. Say I'm being poetic, fine, truths can be poetic truths and still be true. To carve out that portion of our souls and give it to a machine is not just laziness, it's blasphemy, against ourselves.

A writer wakes up in the middle of the night gripped, possessed. The idea haunts them, they have to write it down. True creativity is a bolt from the blue, we're the conduit. No creative person will ever wake up in the night thinking, "I just thought of a really good prompt." NEVER

There is a city here in Oregon called The Dalles. I don't know what a Dalle is, but if it's good, I guess I'm glad we have an assortment of them.

"The Dragon Waiting" is one of my favorite novels of all time. Anyone who likes semi-historical fantasy at all should read it. He sounds like an amazing gentleman.
