I went back into my GH bag, saw a bunch of on-beats and off-beats and knew exactly what to do.

I've said constantly that I loved doing theatre because it was an opportunity for me to embody a character instead of deal with whatever tf I have going on myself. At first, it was a "there were no signs" thing, but like...streaming? Performing? Really distract me from genuine self-image problems.

We do need to uplift/promote more trans masc runners though! I know @shovelclaws.bsky.social called for this after Aftermath's latest GDQ article, and I don't think anyone around here would disagree. Hopefully with @gamesdonequeer.bsky.social happening again this year, we can work on such a thing!

I can speak to some, but not all, of this. Frame Fatales has done a very good job over the years of giving femme speedrunners, cis or trans, a platform/marathon that they can use to parlay into submitting something comfortably to SGDQ/AGDQ. That's a likely variable in submission/acceptance numbers.

This kind of advice unfortunately hurts neurodivergent individuals and anyone else on that kind of spectrum, and its an important thing to bring up! Like, my advice is not foolproof, and we should give some people the benefit of the doubt! I think streamers are a bit better nowdays in that regard.

They never think about the "don't get banned" rule!

It is so easy early in one's streaming career/hobby to let a lot of things slide because having any viewer is a huge accomplishment. But no! If that viewer doesn't pass the vibe check, get 'em out! It leads to a way healthier chatroom down the road. People respect it!
