The carelessness has to be loud I think, plus nobody expects any accountability, plus maybe they fired anyone with the subject matter expertise to see the problem even if they gave a shit

I think you can, but I use TurboScan to scan (just out of habit!) and put all the pages of a document or all the pages from a folder into one multipage pdf, and then from within the app I can save directly to Dropbox where I create a folder directory as I go. It is pretty fast.

I save each document as a pdf and as I save to Dropbox place it in a folder that I create within a box that I number so that when I go back to look at stuff it exists within a directory that mirrors the archive. I sometimes put box and folder number in the file name.

does anyone have a good reading or guide on how to incorporate oral history as a source into historical scholarship? Not oral history as scholarship, but how, as a writer or exhibit creator, to think about weaving transcripts into the work?

No matter what, children will learn that they are besieged and should be frightened, that there is no one to trust, that the solution to any problem is more weaponry and tech, and isn’t that the real friends we made along the way

They try to make it seem like 3d printers are just for fidget toys and maaaaybe medical devices but actually they are an arsenal for weapons and carceral infrastructure

My husband has joked that he should decorate his office to look like Mr Belding’s principal’s office at Bayside from saved by the bell, which is not nearly as nice but also I would really love it

"Who the hell cares if I'm a racist if the facts in the book are right?" he said and enough people nodded along, as though racism was a bad personality trait or tone and not a system of knowledge and power

The myth that mass deportations target those deserving while preserving immigrant labor and allowing the “good people” to stay is load-bearing for support of a project that sweeps away neighbors and destroys rights
