Silver Falls, Mount Rainier National Park, Washington This view had such a great layered feel to it. Moss in the foreground, rushing water below, the waterfall tucked in the distance, and trees wrapped around the whole scene. Quiet, tucked away, and very Pacific Northwest.

What caught my eye here was the warm weathered wood against the bright sky, and the way the barn still feels full of character after all these years. Old barns always seem to carry a quiet kind of history with them.

It was a special moment to finally capture my first astro image with the Milky Way, a lit tent, and Mount Rainier all working together in one frame. One of my favorite details is the faint line of climber headlamps on the mountain, adding a small human element to such a vast landscape.

What caught my eye was the beautiful color throughout the clouds and the many distinct layers across the sky. I especially liked the low clouds gathering just above the dark foreground ridge, where all the smaller shapes, highlights, and shadows added so much detail to the scene.

Tall summer grasses along the edge of the forest. What caught my eye here was the way the seed heads rose above the layers of green and gave the scene a simple, natural rhythm.

Morning light on wild daisies. What caught my eye here was how the white petals caught the warm sunlight while the background fell into deep green shadow. A simple scene, but full of life and texture.

Mount Rainier from White River Campground. What I liked most about this view was the layering. Dark forest in the foreground, a rugged ridge in the middle, and the bright snowfields of Rainier rising above it all.

A close telephoto view of Mount Rainier from the Sunrise side. What caught my eye here was the contrast between the clean white snow, the exposed volcanic rock, and the deep blue sky.

A camera records what was there, but the photographer decides what mattered. 🌄📷 When you take a photo, what tells you the moment matters? 🤔

Minimalist seascape in black and white, Puget Sound, Washington I wanted to keep this one quiet and simple — just the rocks, the water, and the distant shoreline. I used a long exposure to smooth out the water, then converted it to black and white to focus more on shape, contrast, and mood.

What caught my eye here was not just the stream, but the way the water curved through the rocks. It felt more like an abstract pattern than a simple river scene. The rocks gave it texture, but the curves and light on the water were what made me stop and look closer.

Mount Rainier at first light. I had to get up early for this one, but the moment the sunrise started lighting the mountain, it felt completely worth it. The alpenglow moved across the snow and gave the whole north side of Mount Rainier that warm, quiet glow.

Mount Rainier season just got even better. White River area is open again, and I was finally able to get back up there for fresh views of Mount Rainier. I came home with some really beautiful new photos, and I’ll be sharing them throughout the week. I think you’re going to enjoy this set.

This was one of those quieter stops that would be easy to pass by, but the shape of the falls and the small peak rising in the far background is what caught my eye. I liked how the scene had both things at once, the close-up rush of water in front and that quiet mountain view tucked behind it.

Pause for 20 seconds and let the waterfall take over. Lower Latourell Falls drops straight through the forest in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. The longer you watch, the calmer it feels. Can you make it to the end without feeling your shoulders drop? 😀
