What are the odds that a minute ago, I get a like on an Autechre post I made yesterday from none other than @gonkcast.bsky.social and just now the book I’m reading does a random Autechre name drop? (The book is Private Citizens by Tony Tulathimutte; the music is used to disperse a crowd 😂)

Tomahawk opened for Tool during their 2002 tour. It was the summer after my HS graduation and 3 of my friends crammed in a car and drove 7 hours to Vegas to see Tool. It was my first ever concert so technically Tomahawk is my first live music experience. (They kinda sucked but I had a good time!)

Been really struggling to consistently write on my little blog these past six months, but dammit, writing l, even if I'm shouting into the void like I am, is one of the few things that can keep me going if I can just do it. So, here you go, 51 of my favorite albums from this year (so far).

Despite how much I really thought Oppenheimer was peak Nolan, I was kind of indifferent on seeing The Odyssey until these two sentences from Seitz's review turned it around for me!

I got so tired of this that I started responding by saying “well, yeah, but it would be weird if it was what it wasn’t.”

Gotta take the wins where I can get them in times like this. So the best news today is that two bands I love have both released singles for upcoming projects (and both fucking slap).

This, as they say, should be table stakes for any serious progressive candidate moving forward.
