unsurprisingly The Odyssey also just has me thinking once more about crews, journeys, situations-of-the-week, thorny social problems, and war stories, and Trek is all of that

just like when I'm running Mage, it's actually a little bit frightening how easily I'm able to channel Star Trek into game prep, it's right down there deep in my bones. My first ill-fated campaign of it (another victim of scheduling snafus) was an absolute hoot to run. Can't wait to run it again.

anyway I am trying desperately to restrain myself from any such design work until, ironically, GenCon begins on Thursday, because half of my bosses are going and only then can I justify having a nice long weekend

OR maybe I just plunder concepts from it wholesale to make something more specific and a wee bit more grounded and earthy, which honestly doesn't sound like a bad idea
