you know me, Mr. Cynic, i don't really pay attn when people talk about ethoses unless there are toothy clauses in the corporate charter or in low-level contracts that trigger when those ethos are measurably violated. the rest of the time people are just projecting and emoting publicly...

fwiw i have actually discussed this with the chat messenger in question and it was a convenience of certain weenieOS-only APIs (the keychains are really different between the two OSs, and how they expose those to apps). but AFAIK they are on schedule to get an EveryoneElseOS version out soon
