Congrats!

The logistics for the last game were very, very rough for regular fans. Lots of traffic jams and long days and corn sweats. It might be a cool experience if you really have a strong connection to the movie, but that site isn’t built for huge crowds.

Phoenix Senators forever!

Inadvertently took the scenic route back to the hotel — through the historic Cleveland Arcade, where I crashed a wedding reception and strolled through the new baseball art exhibit. Also paid tribute to SABR’s former headquarters in the Caxton Building.

Sadly, the Guardians have still never found the large, plastic, illuminated baseball that displayed the signatures of the 10 original team HOF inductees! Maybe one day …

Shoeless Joe is also included elsewhere at Heritage Park, although the weird placement of his marker for hitting .408 in 1911 — which I almost missed seeing after two trips around the plaza — leaves a lot to be desired.

Also paid my respects to Shoeless Joe — who was in the original class of inductees to the Cleveland Indians’ team hall of fame in 1951. Here’s my story on Joe’s historic selection to the very first MLB team hall of fame ever created: jacobpomrenke.com/black-sox/sh...
