Can we call this #CoosDay advice from the National Trust?
National TrustWhen you adopt the "If I can't see them, they can't see me" strategy in a video call...
You don't have to wear one always and everywhere! But every time you do, you and the people around you are a little bit safer, so find some places it makes sense for you and start there! I've got a train trip tomorrow and I'll have mine on.
Ward Q. Normal (he/him)If you haven't been masking, give it a try. What do you have to lose? Just wear one in crowds and on planes, trains, and buses. Find a style that fits, so you don't futz with it. You don't have to get sick all the time.
Everything said here about collectibles is also true about your family heirlooms. Use the china. Put grandma's quilt on the guest bed. It's nothing if it isn't used. Besides if it survives? Everyone will know whose it was and why you kept it. They'll never know if it's boxed and away.
miss fern 🏳️⚧️😘unseal your cards, unseal your comics, take things out of the fucking box. it's all just cardboard and plastic. fuck the resale market
Sheena has the most brilliant ideas. Genealogists and historians, this is a fun one for you. I am hoping I can still find the 1930s school dance ticket my grandfather saved. If you're stuck look at the Wikipedia for Ephemera, lots of interesting inspiration.
🆂🅷🅴🅴🅽🅰Attention Alphabetters! This is your reminder that Mon 3 Aug starts Week E and the #AlphabetChallenge is Ephemeral. So things that exist very briefly like sunsets and butterflies, or one-off things like tickets, greetings cards etc. Sounds harder than it is! E is tough😂 Use the # below and have fun!
Can't help reading "inviting me to playgrounds" as preferring to have me meet our daughter in busy public places. 🤷♀️
The BulwarkRep. Max Miller: "These are incredibly serious criminal accusations. If these accusations were true, I would be in jail — I would be. My former wife would not have been offering to cook me dinner and inviting me to playgrounds. Think about that."
It's a 🐦!! It's a ✈️!! It's SUPER PEBBLE!!

Great thread on accountability for students, do read through especially if you are in education.
Captain AwkwardAs a prof this is how I dealt with the person in the group project who everyone else complained privately about because they did no work come presentation time: “Nice work, everyone! For the Q& A, why don’t you start us off [Obvious Fuckup Name]! Can you tell us a little about [creative choice]?”
One of the best field trips I ever arranged was to take first graders to a living history farm where they mixed animal feed and watched how wool became yarn (and made little twisted wool bracelets to take home) and honestly would prevent the exact problem Alyssa saw here.
Alyssa LongToday I have witnessed a comment section full of people who do not believe yarn is made from wool because wool is “shorter than yarn” anyway let me get back to staring at the wall in existential dread lmao
