Yeah I'm gonna say it being in favor for AI Datamining companies is probably the leading factor for the gut reaction to be bad.

And like, the destruction is at such a scale when, they're being scanned only for AI companies to use legal loopholes, and that they're trying to scan them a recklessly as possible, because there is a proven way to archive things without destroying them,

I suppose I believe there's a fundamental loss to destroy something and have a shallow copy of it elsewhere. Especially if they're exceptionally rare books. But that's just me following my gut.

I think the destructive part is maybe the key word.
