Worth a read. This is a hyperlocal story about a once respectable local news site. But, the owner who bought it, fired everyone, and who now relies completely on AI slop to generate “news”? This is likely happening all across the country, every day.

Officially moved out of an apt. that my wife and I would have happily spent the rest of our lives in, because people who don't give a damn about the neighborhood want to keep flipping houses for profit. Luckily we can still stay in Bed-Stuy (barely though, $ is tight now), but so many others cannot:

Agree. This is almost my #1 belief (after basic human needs should be free). I’ve had to deal with being lectured about it all my life by people who think they know better about why this is the way it has to be. Even though borders, as we use them, are a recent thing.

It is a universal truth, that the longer a fascist dictatorship exists, the more nonsensical and convoluted its lies have to become to maintain the narrative of “legitimacy.” It’s only going to get dumber until we punish everyone involved in pushing this nonsense.

People who try this whataboutism never acknowledge the reality. Example: When the genocide in Darfur was occurring, I was in high school. My entire school hosted several fundraisers and events to donate goods to Sudan in 2005. 1/
