The slower pace from Kuching is really a hidden benefit for me. The streets are wider and the buildings are lower so the city seems so much more open and brighter. The food is amazing. (Laksa @ 63 Cafe or Hock Kopitiam, Xin Yuan Kopitam 4 choices.) My s-mm2h is the best decision I've ever made.

I love this town. It's so right for me. The people here are just amazing. I've met maybe a dozen other Americans in my 14 months here, so when people realize I'm American the first thing they ask is why I chose Miri. And it's the people. Friendly, open-minded, welcoming, just wonderful.

Bummer. I'm struggling with the cost, but this would be a bucket list item. Add in some noise and crowd issues (autism related) and the threat of both sunburn and getting drenched.... I'm really torn.
