Addendum to add i also think ppl feel a bit more like, one person is accessible to their complaints than a whole org which spurs some of this. Also muddies personal/prof feelings, I see people going “finally, I get to air my personal slight” (which I have seen happen to Zainab lots and it blows)

It sucks cos i’ve seen some people online extrapolate out to “this is a scam” which is weird to do. i’ve always enjoyed the fair, never made anywhere near the money some ppl do, for me it’s just a fun excuse to make something new and talk to new ppl. That’s all ❤️

Also a fun, spectrum-aligned artist tale: Rose was a couple years above me on the same illustration course and one of our tutors told me, frustratedly, “you’re just like Rose!” because I was very grumpy and avoidant at entering lots of competitions. I was very pleased with this comment
