My rural county has 100% projected winner for the incumbent Republican. I believe asking people to let them have their votes forever is a real chance to break through. When they call the House primary I will be wearing that persons shirt everywhere I go. Down ballot races mean turn out too.

Project 2025 is a direct threat to all the data these tools work on too!! They want to defund and make private weather services and further hide their decision making. They are shooting their shot to bind reality to the oligarchs rather than admit we all have to share this earth.

Our culture is deciding what we call merit. Unyielding growth and expansion and cheating your neighbor called winning?

@justinwolfers.bsky.social summarized a reasonable case that these markets will not be successful if they are clearly a scam and don’t result in benefits over the long term. People will stop betting if they think there’s rampant cheating roughly. I wish humans worked that logically.

My rural area had a write in spot for delegate to the dem party and no one to actually vote for! LOL I thought briefly about it… maybe me and a friend could have put me over the top!

Cast my primary vote this morning for Abdul. This is not fringe policy it is what government is supposed to strive for.

Related I’ve been listening to Michigan primary voter focus groups say things like “I think others won’t vote for…” and “not that I’m racist” to support their centrist votes. The self cope is so heavy all the way up and down. I don’t have a solution but it’s a real active bummer.

Unfortunately it appeals to white supremacists which is the voter block needed. I hear the dog whistle and I don’t like it.

This is dystopian at this point. Verifiable fact is inconvenient to “progress”? We have to generate faster than we can verify?
