that was literally my original thought when I first saw it

I did figure the first part but still it’s a very nonsensical meme if a person thinks about it for three seconds. I miss when people had to photoshop their own memes

010

I get that the point of this meme is Islamophobia but also it makes absolutely no fucking sense. like it looks like they have no choice but to be eaten by either fascism or Islam but also what??? what does that even mean??

super fair! I’m not an expert but if I remember correctly the study did say that there were multiple factors at play in why humans did better than neanderthals but most of the scientists find dogs to be an extremely likely factor!

010

I mean if a little guy showed up and prevented me from catching real nasty diseases I might also start worshipping them

020

we do know though that dogs are a big reasons humans out competed neanderthals which is kind of interesting

I’d have to look for the article again because I read it a couple years ago but I think they said that our relationship with dogs help like make it even more of an advantage than it already was and made it an even more consistent trait.

yes! around when we started doing agriculture

I am fascinated by the domestication of dogs and cats and how they were mutually beneficial arrangements and how people didn’t necessarily intentionally start the domestication process

010

also it’s hypothesized that the reason humans all have whites in our eyes because we evolved while hunting with dogs and the whites of the eyes makes it easier to tell what another person or dog is looking at. apparently no other ape consistently has white parts in their eyes

and the domestication of dogs wasn’t entirely a decision humans made! wolves started hanging around humans and eating our food scraps and over time became more and more friendly to people and then started hunting with us creating a mutually beneficial relationship.

240

also the wolves that were domesticated into dogs were likely a little bigger than modern wolves! the wolves that got domesticated were pleistocene wolves which are the ancestors of modern wolves and evolved to hunt megafauna during the last ice age

thank you!
