Gee. From the math, sounds like about 2.5 years current production rate used in five months, though only about equal to the planned production rate in 2030

If only there was an academic field that specialised in the behaviour and relations between actors at the international and global level.

Almost as bad as the TPNW basically reinventing Article VI of the NPT.

Just don't say anything about thermal management, maintenance, upgrades, access cost, latency, collision risk, spectrum management, and anti-radiation hardening.

As per @andrewparsonson.bsky.social the UK still has around £100m unspent from the ESA small launcher programme from 2025. It could reallocate a fraction of it to keep Jodrell Bank going…

This will be a very visible retrenchment of the UK for international science and space audiences. Also of note is the UK’s withdrawal of contributions from the Hawai’i and Chile telescopes.
