Sometimes I ponder the fact that I don't know many people who own boats - but there are still a lot of boats - so who are all the boat people, and where do they congregate? Based on casual observation of mooring areas and piers near my home most of the year they're nowhere near their boats...

Where were all the folks who suddenly (after protesting against Pride all summer) are so outraged about attacks on the LGBTQI+ community this week after the attack on Tepláreň in Bratislava in 2022? Does it at the end of the day matter more to them who the attacker is than who is being attacked?

Btw, for all the whining from everyone not Labour about capitalising on terrorist attacks whenever the 2011 attack or far-right extremism is on the table, I see very little concern about capitalising on pretty much every Islamic-inspired attack to further promote various flavours of Islamophobia.

I see Norwegian out there today wanting to withdraw financial support for muslim faith communities as some sort of collective punishment after the attack in Berlin - which attacks and alienates a whole faith community and must be one of the most counter-productive approaches to counter terrorism.

Ettersom ukas slagord om terror og voldelig ekstremisme i Norge ser ut til å være at "vi skal være ærlige" lurer jeg litt på når vi var uærlige og evt hva løgnen var? Er jo mye konspi og greier ute og går, men vet ikke om noen stor kollektiv løgn. Føles som det er noe jeg har gått glipp av her...

Seeing some of the guys on the right who feel they didn't get enough attention as we marked the 15th anniversary of Utøya and spoke about far-right extremism be like "we have to be honest about the Berlin guy being an islamist" is triggering my eye-rolls as I don't believe anyone's denied that.

One thing about surviving the attack on Utøya I think a bunch of other survivors and I encounter a lot, is the assumption that we're still representative of, or connected to, the Norwegian Labour Party - I've not been a member since 2012/13 - some of the people who were there were never members.

Based on security practice from other places (I.e. Oslo for football in July), and having navigated this area of Berlin to meet Pres. Obama a few years back I'm wondering how it's possible to drive a car near this crowd - is it not practice in Germany to block side-streets for gatherings like this?

Really wish there was some sort of language technology big tech was in possession of that was capable of knowing that not every memory is something we need a reminder of, and that the word "blast" isn't always the best term for reminders of the past...

So deeply saddened to wake up to the news from Berlin.
